Inaugurated in 2006 by the City of St. Hyacinthe, the Juliette-Lassonde Arts Centre features two theatres, a traditional one and a multifunctional one. The Centre offers professional performances by singers, musicians, dancers, stand-up comics and variety artists year-round, for the general public and school groups. Private and public events complete the schedule of indoor and outdoor activities held throughout the year.

Founded in 1985, Expression, St. Hyacinthe’s Exhibit Centre, is a museum institution promoting and broadcasting contemporary and current-day art. Expression presents, in a broad, magnificent area, exhibitions reknowned for their artistic quality. Along with such exhibitions come an educational service, conferences and publications. In addition, Expression frequently adds related activities to its regular program.

Expression offers community, social and cultural groups a 30-minute commented visit service. Furthermore, school groups are invited to activities especially designed for them, based on every exhibition. School visits, which last 1 hour 15 minutes, include an exhibition room visit and a creative arts workshop. Tuesday through Friday. For any facilitated activity, a reservation is required.

In addition to being a tourist attraction, this 4.5 hectare floral park also serves an educational purpose. It is the teaching garden of St. Hyacinthe’s Agricultural and Technological Institute and is recognized by the horticultural community for featuring Quebec’s largest collection of annual plants (i.e. 50,000). You will be charmed by the diversity of its 16 thematic gardens.

Les Salines Park

Les Salines Park is a large urban park. In the summer, it offers a 7-km circuit of rock dust managed trails for hiking and cycling. Hiking trails are lighted in the evening. A trail has been specially developed for mountain bikers. A BMX circuit is available.

In the winter, the park offers several winter sport possibilities with its 7-km circuit of mechanically groomed ski trails. Some of the trails are also intended for ski skating. Skiers and hikers use the same trails, that are lighted in the evening. A mechanically groomed slide is also available. A skating rink with background music is reserved for skaters. The park also has an artificial ice climbing tower.

Experience a unique, unforgettable face to face with more than 20 Quebec prey bird species. Meet the eyes of a tawny owl while strolling down a trail in a natural environment. See our rehabilitating patients’ progress while visiting a one-of-a-kind aviary complex.

Élisabeth-Bergeron Centre Museum

If you are nostalgic toward your first school years or if you have an interest for religious heritage, visit the Élisabeth-Bergeron Centre museum. Exhibits and photographs evoke the scope and diversity of the work of the Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Hyacinthe. Far from exhaustive, these witnesses can still revive several visitors’ memory and allow them to retrieve their own history. From the crusader’s picture to the first geography textbook, copybook and teacher’s wooden clacker.

A neoclassical architecture church built in 1878 by the fourth bishop of our diocese, Blessed Mgr Louis-Zéphirin Moreau. Enlarged and renovated between 1908 and 1912. The Cathedral features a 54-tone Opus 8 historical Casavant organ, Opus 8 (1885), restored in 2006-2007. Painting by Ozias Leduc (1910). Bohemian crystal chandeliers (1963). Guided tour upon reservation.

Hôtel-Dieu Hospital Chapel

St. Hyacinthe’s Hôtel-Dieu Hospital founded in 1840 by St. Hyacinthe’s Sisters of Charity. The Aline-Letendre Foundation became its official fundraising organization in 1984. Its mission is to improve the care and services provided to its residents, as well as their living environment. The chapel can be visited year-round, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM.

The current Chapel in St. Hyacinthe’s Seminar, built in 1929, is of neogothic style. Its architect, Mr. René Richer, was inspired by Amiens Cathedral, in France. The Chapel also has a crypt that can be visited.
